Notes
The snapping turtle was dead, lying on it's back in a bush of water plants. The cause of the turtle's death is unknown. There were no bite marks or maimed flesh to indicate if it was eaten or killed by a human being. It's body was completely intact. The most likely cause of death would probably be the attempted eating of an eastern newt, because there are newts in the swamp.
