Notes
Larva California Giant Salamander was found in a cold, clear, shallow stream running through a protected grove of old-growth redwoods. It was found by carefully scanning the rocks and nooks in clear portions of the stream through binoculars until this one was found (after about 30 minutes of searching). After it moved from the rocks I was able to get a closer photo. Included is a habitat photo of a very similar, nearby portion of creek.
