on approach, this lizard ran from the path and initially rested on the substrate but shortly raised itself;
also seen: about 12 additional Cophosaurus (1 adult female, rest juveniles); 1 adult Aspidoscelis tigris; 1 adult unidentified Aspidoscelis; about 10 Uta, most juveniles
