I've been herping this area for nearly 20 years. My own informal observations indicate a rise in bullfrog populations and a marked decrease in Thamnophis populations. Hyla has also been more difficult to observe as bullfrogs have become more prevalent. Four were observed on this day. In the last several years, I generally average about 2-3 hammondi a day. 15-20 years ago, it was more like 15-20 a day.
