I didn't actually catch this beauty myself; it was brought to my office by one of my associates from the field. He called me and asked if I needed to photograph any Garter snakes. I said yes and asked him what color is it? He said it’s kind of bluish. That got me excited thinking…it’s another blue-striped found right here in Gainesville, Florida. I wish I could say it’s a Thamnophis sirtalis similis. However, I believe it’s just a blue phase of the Eastern garter snake. You may disagree. I may be wrong.
