Notes

Location is exact.
I did not visit this locality this year, so I don't have any follow ups.
Does this look like zonata disease?
I flipped another just the next rock over, can't find those pictures unfortunately, but it had the same exact crusty look especially in the head... It was a long winter before the 2023 flipping season.. IDk

Hey Jeff,
I looked back in my videos and they both moved alright. They could slither, but seemed like they had stiff maybe kinked tails. Is that maybe where the neurological ability begins to deteriorate?
It was a very long winter before the 2023 flipping season so I bet that plays a role in their beat up look, maybe even caused the "zonata desiease" idk what I'm talking about haha just throwing out ideas.

Looks just like it. As far as the skin "appearance" goes. How about its neurological ability? Did it slither "off" or have trouble slithering?

I've came across it multiple times in the San Bernardino Mtns. like this, with the roughed up skin, yet they always slithered okay. In captivity, in my experience it seems that the neurological issues pop up first.
