This is, from what I know and talking to others with knowledge in the area to be the first Mitchellii from this canyon. This was in July '05, I have now found quite a few live specimens in this canyon since then. I was told though by an older man who lives in my area, that he saw an orange rattlesnake near the cliffhanger -(arrowhead higlands summit). In '08 I found one on the crestline cut off bridge just about at 4000ft-(the highest I have seen one on this part of the coastal slopes).
