Did not realize this species had been introduced in Alaska. Heard calls and found this specimen. I was very confused and concerned until I talked with a biologist later who was studying the population. Apparently they were introduced to this small pond decades ago by an individual who wanted his wife to hear frog calls. The population has remained but does not seem to be spreading.
