That's not what Stebbin's field guide says...and I don't necessarily jump on every new bandwagon that comes along...
No infernalis from just S. of Monterey to around Santa Barbara, where the range picks up again. It's all fitchi in between, including SLO. http://www.californiaherps.com/snakes/pages/t.s.fitchi.html
Not unless fitchi are found within 15 miles of the coast...
Looks an awful lot like a fitchi to me... ; )
