Notes

Behind the Raptor Rehabilitation Center there were two medium sized plywood scraps approx 10 yards from each other...nothing under number 1, but a fairly good sized individual adult male Eastern Milk Snake with great coloration was considerably close in proximity to the Barred Owl enclosure. After photo and identifiation I released him back to the original location. He proceded to slither in a path straight underneath the Barred Owl enclosure. I did remain their until the snake went underneath some cover so he didnt get easily ambushed by the very observant owl. Despite the close proximity to the nature center run by HC students, I thought it was a great pleasant find since with in the nature center is a serpentarium with some very impressive exotic and native species of snakes. That was my highlight of a herping trip to Lake Hope/Zaleski State Forest with girlfriend supplying the digital camera and photo shots.
It was a warm 78 pC day with slight nw breeze.
