Found basking on a pile of logs. Totally blue (actually found the shed hours later near the pile of logs. Only got one picture before its tail slipped out of my hands and it was gone.

I apologize for the lack of clarity in the photograph. I was having trouble working with it alone, and ended up losing it because of that.

I highly doubt it. It's been a while, but it had a clearly distinguished yellow belly, it didn't have the "coachwhip" tail, and it was much darker because it was in full blue. I actually revisited the logs the next morning and found a shed that was just a few inches longer leading me to believe that it was from the same snake. It also had a dorsal scale count of about 12, too low for Masticophis.
That's a Masticophis.
