No. I must have just hit the wrong subspecific tag while entering the record as I was also compiling a NC list at the same time. The record above appears as: western cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus leucostoma) in both my database and in my field notes.
Are you sure of this subspecific identification? Of the currently recognized subspecies, only A. p. leucostoma is known to occur in Louisiana.
