Notes
Remarkably, the characteristic red leg coloration that gave this species its common name was faint and virtually absent. Measured: SVL 108 mm (4ΒΌ in.). A pleasant surprise when found at night on road during light, sprinkling rain. When picked up, rasping chuckle release call vocalized. Air temperature: 10-C (50-F). California red-legged frogs were seen again at this location on December 13, 2002.
