Notes
Observed these last year about the same time of year. This individual was in a side channel between an island and the road. As I approached for a pic from a distance, a loud car came by and slowed, scaring this individual into the water before a pic could be taken... first discovered in this river in 1972.. thought to be introduced and still thriving but nowhere numerous. This is the only large basking turtle to inhabit this river at this location.
