One of two found this day. This adult is approx. 9.5 inches and weighed 7 grams.

Comments
This is as far south in the Santa Cruz Valley as I've heard of these snakes being found. This could be a range extension south for this species in AZ.
Note: This snake used to be called the "variable sand snake," Chilomeniscus cinctus. I'm assuming that C. stramineus is the current taxonomic designation. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. TC.
