Several P sierra were seen in this creek, though not as many as I would have initially expected for this type of habitat.
Interestingly, every single P sierra that I saw in this creek was the brown color phase. No red, no green.
Also present in this creek was Rana boylii. Often the two species were basking near to each other.
An interesting note - the stream was rapid moving enough that in many places, the P regilla were unable to dive to the bottom, while the R boylii had no trouble doing so.
Thus most P sierra would swim along the surface when startled, possibly making them easier targets for predators.
