This skink was dead and covered with ants, but it doesn't look like it had been dead long. It was between two pieces of plywood. Someone else had been to the locale early and did quite a bit of flipping without replacing the cover to original position. Could not have been more than a day or so ago, about the same time that the skink probably died.
My guess is either the previous flipper either dropped the board on the skink, or stepped on the board killing it. Hopefully it was accidental.
