Notes
Despite overcast weather, it was warm enough for several rattlesnakes to be out basking at this den site in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, near Lyle.
Comments
I meant to include that rather vague locality data in the "notes" section. It provides readers with a generalized geographic idea of where the rattlers were seen, without being too specific. There are a zillion rocky side canyons in the huge Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area. So nobody's going to be able to find this den site without the name of that particular tributary drainage. The town of Lyle is actually several miles distant from this location.
Hi Alan, just in case there was some confusion, the "Notes" section is viewable by the public. If you put the locality info into the "Locality" box, the public cant see it.
