Comments
They are both from a known spot near our house. But we were surprised to find them this early in the year. We have monitored that population closely for about 4 years because it lives along a fire road that is being graded with heavy machinery once a year, which I am pretty sure buries or crushes at least some of HL lizards (and other lizards) each time. Certain spots along the road where we used to find them now seem dead. Then again, we continue to find them at new spots along the same road. So, hopefully they will hang on. But it seems like a tenuous existence.
Nice work guys! Been thinkin about trying for these guys
