Notes
Biologist Doug Calvin encountered this racer swallowing a fence lizard near Rowena in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. My son, Shawn, and I were nearby searching under rocks and logs, and Doug immediately summoned us with a shout. Quickly arriving on the scene, I was able to photograph the snake's feeding behavior.
