Notes
When found at the shore of a pond SW of McMinnville in the Willamette Valley, this large red-spotted garter snake was in the process of eating a rough-skinned newt (Taricha granulosa). Upon being captured, it seemed groggily "drunk", no doubt due to side effects of the salamander's potent skin toxins.
