Notes
I was sitting on top of a ridge line taking a break after a full day of hiking in hopes of finding a Lichanura trivirgata gracia in the Newberry Mtns. As I was sitting there finishing some food, I was staring down at the bottom at what looked like a straight line stick, after minutes of watching this stick and realizing it was moving at a slow pace , and with the time of day I was almost in shock thinking it had to be a Lichanura. As I made my way down the rocky ridge line slowly keeping my eye on the moving stick and making sure to not trip over a rock, and once close enough...I realized my Lichanura was in fact a Crotalus. Still happy with the find as it was my first Atrox in this Mtn. range. The snake went into defense mode almost immediately.
