Following a noontime drenching thundershower, when sunshine returned I found five adults and two juveniles under rocks in the lower Owyhee River Canyon, near Adrian. They represented examples of all ground snake color/pattern morphs----orange-and-black crossbanded, black-and-white crossbanded, orange-striped, and uniform tan.
