This Horned Lizard was found dead in the tire ruts of one of the machines used to clear brush.

Sounds about right.
Total bummer. I was incredibly concerned when I found it, as it is a listed species, but apparently if there is a construction to be done, and accidents happen, "SSC" animals get no more protection than anything unlisted.
What a bummer.
