There is an arrow on the head - so I'll switch it. I suspect the other one I found in the same area is then a red-belly too.
Yeah, they can be confusing. My initial impression was that the patterning was more reddish than yellow. I think the patterns on P. peninsularis are more dull. Also, it looks like there might be an "arrow" on top of its head, but I can't tell for sure. It's hard to make a 100% positive ID on these when you aren't close.
I'll have to look more closely later. It is one or the other.
I thought it looked like a redbelly too but I'm really not experienced enough with either species to be sure.
You don't think that's a red-bellied?
