Notes
This snapping turtle is believed to have been seen on a number of previous occasions, though never close enough to land for brief capture and acute observation. Specimen carried 4 leaches that were concentrated on the hind limbs/cloacal region. The diameter of the small pond could be approximate to 50 metres. The pond is located within a very small conservation area in close proximity to human development/habitation (and effect starting to show with increasing human clutter on site). Muskrats, Blue herons, red-wing blackbirds, painted turtles, green frogs, and leopard frogs are also known to occupy pond.
