I see. Their dept just hasn't updated their taxonomy. The short-horns were all previously considered forms under the name P. douglasii (= douglassi, douglasi). P. hernandesi was elevated to sp. status in 1997.
Thanks for the correction. North Dakotas conservation department website lists them as douglasii, and I'm not a horned lizard expert, so I went with that.
Although it looks similar to P. douglasii, this is P. hernandesi, based on head morphology and locality.
