Found this one when it was a yearling in front of my dorm room in college (Texas A&M-Galveston, on Pelican Island). Was used as a nature center display animal when the picture was taken.
According to Alan Tennant, this rattler is the easternmost documented specimen in Texas.

Yup, found on Pelican Island. I've actually come across a couple juvenile Atrox over the years on campus, and some fairly large specimens across the street in the scrub.
Was that found on Pelican Island? That's a great find in Galveston.
