Notes
Perfect eastern box turtle habitat is being destroyed to add a new highway to bridge two other highways- 270 & 95 that are already connected at other points within 20 miles in either direction. This construction, while it may help traffic somewhat, will destroy what remaining habitat these already threatened species have left. We found 4 turtles in one day, and over few weeks before they have found over one hundred box turtles over the several mile stretch that will be affected during early construction.

This highway is a really sad story.
