Before looking on CA herp I had figured that most all of the same species that could be found east over the border in the Pyramid basin would also exist in east Lassen. I was surprised to see otherwise.
Lassen is a county I have yet to reach, Im hoping to get up there sometime this month. In addition to Collard Lizards, there was a rather, recent discovery of a Ground Snake (Californiaherps). One can only wonder what else will turn up there with a bit of searching; a Night Snake perhaps.
There are collards in lassen, if you want another co. Record , I wanted to get it but I don't think I'm gonna make it up there this year
Thanks! This was one of I think six CA county records that I managed to get yesterday. Five in Lassen and one in Plumas. I think I got another the day previous in Lassen also. Still quite a few more out there to get.
A Lassen County record, fantastic!
They are hands down the coolest lizards out there IMO
That thing is awesome looking
