Notes
As I was combing my favorite spot along the rock river for herps, I foumd the my favorite one of them all is more active this year after a rise of the river due to heavy rain fall which got flood water from iowa and wisconsin. That made the river come over its banks and flood most grass area and since it has returned to normal level its still flooded ditches and fields where this year I find these toads the are calling and breeding just like last spring where I came across a few adult toads and last summer just many baby toadlets. The bufo americanus is a night time or after a rain going frog but most of these can be found on a dry day in daylight hours in this spot where I found them this year. The american toad is ID'd by 1-2 large spots in in each dark spot on its body
