I think your right. The photo was texted to me by a friend. I thought those lines in the neck region were just light reflection as opposed to the Short Lined Skinks pattern. Bad photos certainly dont help ID. Thanks! I'll change it.
The coloring doesn't look right for a Great Plains Skink. I believe your skink is a Four-lined Skink (Plestiodon tetragrammus)
